Nothing that's amazingly shocking that anyone should be too surprised but it could be offensive to some communities such as those in the gay community. As you can see below in the middle quote where the word "queer" is used, I haven't met too many people that tell their friends, "hey I want my new nickname to be QUEER ok guys?" most find it offensive just as words like homo and fag which are practicly engraved in the english language by now.
